JENNIFER HARDY

Pilates Instructor
CoreAlign Instructor

Jennifer has been a part of the Centered Body Pilates team for over 5 years. She is a graduate of Fairfield University and worked as an underwriting consultant for a number of years before leaving to dedicate her time to raising her two children. In 2009, Jennifer was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Following 12 months that included multiple surgeries and chemotherapy, she decided it was time to devote her energies to her long time passion of fitness and exercise. So it was a natural step to become a personal trainer.

Jennifer was introduced to Pilates through Francesca Durant and was immediately immersed in her practice. She is a fully certified Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) instructor. The mind/body connection that Pilates focuses on has brought a keen sense of awareness to how much more her body can do for itself following cancer treatment. Her favorite exercises are those that incorporate thoracic flexion and extension. The strength, flexibility and spinal mobility she's gained from these Pilates exercises have improved her fitness training, running and other daily activities. One of her favorite Joseph Pilates quotes is, "Physical fitness of one of the first requisites of happiness."

Jennifer does Crossfit 5-6 days a week and has run two marathons and a number of half marathons and local road races. She looks forward to working with new clients using a blend of Pilates and functional training to help them achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals.
