The Pilates Method
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
How frequently should I practice Pilates?
Every BODY is unique and will respond to the Pilates work at it’s own pace.
Creating new movement habits and a new physique is a process that requires effort and commitment. Real and lasting change happens over time. The wonderful thing about Pilates is that you have FUN and FEEL wonderful all along the way. Regardless of your long-term goals,
we have one very important goal for each session: that you leave rejuvenated,
relaxed, more confident and comfortable
in your body.
This consistent investment in yourself creates results!
Should I do private sessions or group classes?
Meeting one on one allows us to discuss your individual goals, health history and motivation. We assess your alignment, core control, strength and flexibility and design and individual workout. If you have any physical limitations or injuries this is the ideal environment. However, once knowledgeable, group classes can be a fun and positive environment to enhance private/ semi-private sessions and to work towards your goals. Discuss with your instructor a plan best for you.
Should I do other types of exercise with Pilates training?
The mind-body program strengthens and lengthens muscles simultaneously, creating a balanced, streamlined body. Incorporating a form of cardiovascular exercise with your Pilates program will give you a balance movement program.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows the body to move without restriction. Pilates is generally practiced barefoot…or in socks. We have a small dressing room for your convenience.
